This Ductless Mini Split installation project was for a garage in Katy, TX.  I’m particularly excited about how well it ended up considering some of the limitations we had for the project.  Pictured is an LG 17 SEER Ductless mini split system.  At 18k BTU has the ability to cool and heat the garage so it can be enjoyed year round.  This particular custom uses the garage as a work space allowing greater functionality and better working conditions regardless of the season.

Aesthetic Details:

• See the white plastic extending from the unit to the right? This is Line set cover from rectorseal and is typically run on the exterior wall. For the sake of the HOA restrictions we sent the copper line set, control wire, and condensation first internally then externally on the other side of the fence line (pictured) so that the cover was as descrete as possible. Turned out well. This does need to be pitched slightly in order to get condensation water out.

• See the picture below. This shows a few important items. Disconnect Box(grey box) is where the unit draws power through and is required on all jobs. A new circuit was run from the breaker box (pictured above near indoor unit) in order for the unit to be powered with 240V. The indoor unit gains power from the control wire run through the line set cover.

• The LG Mini Split Condenser was elevated onto brackets. This was place just below the fence line so that the unit would not be visible from the street. At this height it removes the risk of ever having the unit flooded. It also securely prevents the unit from ever being moved by other weather related events being attached to the brick of the house. Mini Splits can also be placed on a traditional light concrete pad.

  • SU180HEV

  • LSN180HEV

• Sections white rectorseal line set cover

• 1 aquaguard LG specific float switch (prevents water from flooding space if backed up)

• Square D Disconnect Box & electric whip 1/2″

• Licensed Electrician conduit, 15 AMP Breaker

• Copper Line Set 35 ft 1/2″ & 3/8″ Pre Insulated

• Mounting Bracket

• Flexible Insulated drain line 35 ft

• Pee Gravel for French Drain

• Licensed EPA and TDLR HVAC Installation Crew

• Remote Control & Mount Kit

• Control Wire 14/4
